Luke is NINE!

Luke turned nine on May 29th.  As usual I can't believe how old my kids are getting.  Nine! Really.  Where has the time gone?!?!

He is such a great kid though.  He just finished 3rd grade and it was his best year of school yet! He had a great teacher that helped the transition to a new school be as smooth as possible.  He started swimming with the Layton Surfers swim team and is really enjoying that.  He also just started piano lessons and is doing great there too! I don't even have to bug him to practice! He loves science and learning about space.  He loves to put things together and is really good at figuring things out.  He is so sweet to his little brother Andrew and is a bit of a tease to his other little brother Isaac.  :) He loves to be silly and is so creative and imaginative.  He also loves to talk.  I hope that he continues to like to talk to me! He also loves to play computer games.  He has been begging us for a membership to this game called Wizards 101.  So I made him earn it by not playing video games for a whole month.  If he did that he would earn a month membership.  And surprisingly enough he did it! He is smart, funny, and developing into a wonderful young man.  but I'm still going to call him my little boy.  We sure love you Luke!

He got lots of books for his birthday.  He loves to read, but is very picky about what he reads.  He prefers non fiction, but also likes Big Nate books and Diary of a Wimpy Kid books.

We love having family close by so we can celebrate special occasions with them!

Make a wish!

Traditional birthday morning Monkey Bread.

He got a cool helicopter from Grandma and Papa Erickson.

And his favorite. Circuit Sets.  These things are seriously cool toys.  They are just a bunch of things you snap together that allow electricity from a battery run though them and if you connect them right things light up, play music, spin around etc.  He loves them! And we love him!
